Our story
Some families are quiet and calm. Ours… not so much. Growing up with ten siblings and an open door, every special occasion growing up felt less like a cosy gathering and more like a small festival. Think: mountains of wrapping paper, enough food to feed a village, and at least three arguments about who ate the last chocolate.
But that was the magic. Every season brought new chaos, and every year we found ourselves laughing about it all over again. Those memories made us realise something important: the best parts of life aren’t perfect, they’re personal. And we wanted to capture that magic not just for ourselves, but for other families too. That’s how Your Gifts was born — out of love, laughter, and maybe a little bit of glitter.
Growing up in such a big family meant every occasion was a production. Birthdays weren’t just birthdays, they were full-scale festivals. Christmas wasn’t just a day, it was weeks of planning, decorating, and wrapping presents until you couldn’t see the floor. And Halloween? Think: chaos, costumes, and at least one pumpkin carving disaster every year.
But in between the noise, the glitter explosions, and the arguments, the slamming doors, there was always joy. Those chaotic, funny, messy traditions are the ones we still talk about now. And it’s those very memories that sparked Your Gifts.
We realised that the magic of family traditions shouldn’t just be ours to keep. Every family deserves that “warm and fuzzy” feeling when they look back at a keepsake, or the laughter that comes from silly little traditions. So we set out to bottle up all that chaos and joy — and share it with you.
Family effort
Yes, officially we’re a mother-daughter business. Unofficially, it’s a team effort involving kids, siblings, and even the pets.
The children are our “creative consultants” — brutally honest about what’s fun and what’s not. (Spoiler: they’re usually right.) The older family members keep things ticking in the background, setting up, fixing, and occasionally wondering why they agreed to help again. And then there are the animals. Let’s just say our packing process involves more fur than we’d like to admit.
